Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro

Chinmaya Vidyalaya Bokaro, an educational institution whose legacy extends far beyond Jharkhand to a global scale, has officially stepped into its golden year. Established in 1977 and widely renowned for its strong cultural values, the school marked the occasion with a grand Golden Jubilee ceremony on its campus. Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt. Annpurna Devi graced the event as the Chief Guest. The celebration was attended by prominent dignitaries including former Bokaro MLA Biranchi Narayan, Resident Acharya of Chinmaya Mission Bokaro Swamini Samyuktananda Saraswati, President Biswaroop Mukhopadhyay, Secretary Mahesh Tripathi, Treasurer R.N. Malik, Principal Suraj Sharma, Senior Vice-Principal Narmendra Kumar, and Vice-Principal Dr. Roshan Sharma, alongside principals, directors, and distinguished guests from various schools across the district. The program commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by Pre-Primary students reciting the 12th Chapter of the Bhagavad Gita and music department students rendering a welcome song. The audience was then treated to a mesmerizing Shiva Stuti dance performance, as well as a vibrant Santhali dance highlighting the rich cultural heritage of Jharkhand, which drew enthusiastic applause from the auditorium. A major highlight of the event was a grand theatrical depiction of Krishna Leela presented by over 350 students, tracing the life of Lord Krishna from his birth to his message of divine love, earning high praise from parents and guests alike. During the ceremony, Chief Guest Mrs. Annpurna Devi felicitated 41 meritorious students for their outstanding academic achievements. In her address, she praised Chinmaya Vidyalaya Bokaro for its dedication to promoting Indian culture and civilization, noting that this commitment is what sets the institution apart from others. She highlighted that the school’s alumni continue to bring honor to the nation both in India and abroad. Paying tribute to Swami Chinmayananda Saraswati, she stated that Gurudev’s vision of passing India’s rich heritage down to future generations is clearly coming to fruition today, adding that Gen Z will play a pivotal role in achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s *Viksit Bharat 2047* vision. The event also honored the school's leadership legacy, welcoming former principals including President’s Awardees Dr. Hemlatha Biswas and Dr. Ashok Singh, along with Mr. Ashok Kumar Jha. Swamini Samyuktananda Saraswati felicitated them for their immense contributions, as well as former teachers and members of the Alumni Association. Reminiscing about Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda Saraswati, Swamini Samyuktananda emphasized that the foundation of the school's ongoing achievements was laid by Gurudev himself, whose guidance remains ever-present through his timeless teachings. She expressed her gratitude to all past and present faculty and students whose continuous efforts made this 50-year milestone possible. Expressing his heartfelt thanks to the Chief Guest, Principal Suraj Sharma urged students to never stop learning, regardless of life’s circumstances. He credited the dedication of former principals and teachers for shaping the school into what it is today, reminding the students of their responsibility to understand and carry forward Chinmaya's rich legacy. The celebration concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Senior Vice-Principal Narmendra Kumar, acknowledging the hard work of the organizing committee, including Subrata Gupta, Meenakshi Kumari, Sonali Gupta, Siben Chakraborty, and the entire faculty and staff.
